Who We Are
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation
to develop and support
the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints,
to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation,
to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition
also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.
What We Do
Our flagship activities include:
Come Meet Us
Want to meet us? The first Sunday of the month we are usually at the
Austin
History Center from 12:15-2:00pm for our monthly lecture. Other Sunday
mornings, we meet at Romeo's, 11:30am-1:00pm,
1500 Barton Springs Rd. [Google Map].
If you're not a morning person, come hang out with us some evening.
Thursday evening is happy hour at the Dog & Duck Pub, 406 W. 17th St.
near the Capitol [Google Map] starting at 7:00 pm.
On Sunday afternoons, the cast and crew of the Atheist Experience meet up in a restaurant
after the show and invite the audience. See the Atheist Experience website for details.
