Just wondering if you guys heard about the federal program called Fugitive Safe Surrender? I just learned about it from an article in the Saturday ed. of the Statesman. In this program church members work with the police and the courts to set up a site (at a church)-- basically a pseudo court room/booking station -- where people who have warrants against them, turn themselves in to the state. You can read the article at http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/09/08/0908warrants.html
And more info about the program in general at:
This is scary stuff to me. What's next, a church at the police station and vice versa? Maybe we will get to be like the Taliban and have the church BE the police. Sends chills up my spine to even think about it.
