In the new episode of the Atheist Experience (746) they were talking about evolution. Aventually they came to a point where the caller said that it would not make sense for pathogens to have evolved in this way because their food would die and then the host dies.

I think it's a shame that matt didn't bring up parasites. Aren't parasites just pathogens that evolved in a way that they can keep the host alive as long as possible so they can multiply and spread before the host dies?

Any1's thoughts on this? Am i wrong here?

Taking the other extreme, Ebola doesn't spread around that much because it tends to kill its hosts pretty quickly.
