Online Discussion Groups
Atheist Community of
Austin hosts a handful of email discussion groups on Yahoo.
Participation is free in these groups. Please read carefully to be
sure that you subscribe to the correct lists. We recommend getting
a Yahoo identity and associating your subscription with that identity,
though it is not strictly necessary to do so.
These
lists are the property of the Atheist Community of Austin, and we maintain
our right to block anyone at any time. Subscribers who display consistently
rude and/or disruptive behavior, or who frequently post messages that
are off-topic, may be removed from the mailing list with or without warning.
Removing people is at the sole discretion of the moderator. Although
we try to be fair about this, retribution against rude people may be swift
and arbitrary. To contact the moderator of the Yahoo groups, you can
do so through our contacts page.
If you
feel that you have been removed from the list unfairly, you may appeal
the matter by appearing at one of our weekly meetings.
Lists open to all atheists
These groups are for discussion on atheist topics by non-theists.
Please note that these discussion groups are for non-theists
only. They were created for atheists who are weary
of the god-no god debate and wish to move on to atheist-specific discussions.
If you post messages to these groups arguing for the existence of god, against
the validity of evolution, etc., you will be asked to move the discussion
to ask-list, which is the appropriate forum for those topics; if you continue
to post on such topics after being asked not to, you will be barred from posting.
To join,
click one of the groups on the left column and follow the instructions.
To post a message, click the appropriate posting addresses, or just send
email to the address shown.

General discussion
about issues relating to atheism. The majority of net-savvy ACA
members subscribe to this list. There are about 300 people on this
list from all over the world.
Due to a high volume of spam in the past, this group requires approval for membership.
Don't be put off by this; just send a short message when you join
the group and state that you are an atheist, and you'll be approved
within a day or two.

This
is a group for discussion between atheists and believers. We created
it for the numerous Christians who approached our site with questions
for and about atheists and atheism. Everyone is welcome to participate,
however, we ask that participants remember that this is an atheist-host
group. If you are offended by atheists or atheism please do not join. |
