ENDA Amendment

>ENDA is an act currently being authored in state conventions nationwide. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) extends federal employment discrimination protections which are currently provided based on race, religion, gender, national origin, age and disability to include sexual orientation. Members of ACA are working to include the non-religious as well, by urging amendment proponents to add the phrase, "or lack thereof" following the word "religion".

The proposed wording of the act would then be:

"discrimination in employment on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion or lack thereof, gender or gender identity, disability, age or sexual orientation"
